Chapter 100
The room fell into stunned silence as Noel’s frantic outburst echoed through the space. Journalists exchanged wide-eyed glances, unsure of what was unfolding before them.
Cordy remained composed, though her eyes were sharp as she locked onto Noel. “A misunderstanding, you say?” she repeated, her voice cold and steady, “Then why did you take it upon yourself to leak those photos?”
Noel was trembling, her eyes darting nervously around the room as if looking for a way out of the trap Cordy had just laid for her. “I-I didn’t… I would never!” she stammered, but there was a hint of panic in her voice, and Cordy didn’t let up.
“I don’t know how it came to be that my own sister became involved in a scheme to ruin me,” Cordy continued, her tone laced with a bitterness that cut through the tension. “But I do know that someone wanted Kyle and was willing to sacrifice me to get him.”
The journalists began murmuring amongst themselves, the weight of Cordy’s words hanging heavily in the air. There was no denying that her insinuation was clear: Noel was involved in something far more sinister than just being a bystander.
Cordy stood up straighter, addressing the crowd now with unwavering authority. “As for Kyle Jessop, you all know who he is—always the perfect gentleman on the outside, but not without his own motives. I was never the one in control of our relationship, nor did I ever have the upper hand. And as for the photos, well, I think we can all guess who benefited the most from this scandal.”
At that, the room became an almost palpable mixture of shock and curiosity. The journalists were on the edge of their seats, desperate for answers. Kyle had been the one to stay silent throughout this entire affair, despite being at the heart of the issue. Why hadn’t he spoken up? Was he hiding something?
Cordy’s eyes flashed with determination as she took one last look at Noel, who was now visibly pale, her entire demeanor shaken. Cordy turned back to the press. “You’ll all find out the truth soon enough. But until then, I suggest you start asking the right questions and follow the trail that’s been left behind. It won’t be hard to figure out who had the most to gain from bringing me down.”
The journalists buzzed with newfound urgency, scribbling down notes furiously. Some of them had already started to piece together the clues, their eyes scanning between Cordy and Noel.
But before the situation could escalate further, one journalist raised a hand, his voice trembling slightly as he broke the silence. “Ms. Sachs… are you suggesting that your sister, Noel, was behind all this? That she’s the one who leaked the photos?”
Cordy didn’t flinch. She met the journalist’s gaze head-on, her expression steely. “I’m not suggesting anything. I’m stating the obvious.”
At that moment, Noel’s resolve finally shattered. She burst into tears, her hands trembling as she clutched her chest, her voice cracking with desperation. “No! You don’t understand! I didn’t do it! I didn’t want any of this to happen!” she sobbed, her face contorted with guilt and fear.
The entire room was now focused on Noel’s breakdown, the tension so thick it could be cut with a knife. The journalists were torn between documenting the emotional scene unfolding before them and questioning the validity of Cordy’s accusations. The shock of the situation was so intense that no one dared to interrupt.
Cordy watched Noel’s tearful display, her eyes cold and distant, as if she were witnessing something far removed from her own reality. “I’m sorry, but the truth can’t be buried anymore,” she said quietly. “Whatever you did, whatever part you played in this, you will answer for it.”
The words hung in the air, heavy with finality.
Mandy Jessop, watching the live stream in Kyle’s office, leaned forward in disbelief. “So this is happening… Cordy’s pushing the blame onto Noel?” she muttered, a mixture of shock and excitement in her voice. This was more than just a scandal—it was becoming a spectacle, a drama that could easily turn the tide in her favor.
Kyle, still watching intently, smirked to himself. “Let them fight it out. No matter how this plays out, Cordy’s going down.”
But back in the conference room, the battle was far from over. Cordy had just begun to turn the tables, and the truth, however painful, was about to come crashing down.
