Chapter 58
As the evening wore on, the atmosphere became more relaxed and carefree. Cordy was enjoying herself more than she had expected. Zoe, far from the cool and composed celebrity persona she had imagined, was warm and full of stories that made everyone laugh. Quinn, too, joined in with witty remarks, and the trio quickly became more comfortable with each other.
By the time they had finished several bottles, Zoe was laughing so hard, she had tears in her eyes. “I swear, I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun. You’re not as uptight as I thought you’d be, Cordy.”
Cordy smiled, feeling a lightness she hadn’t felt in a while. “I guess I can be a little serious when it comes to work, but I’m just as human as anyone else when it comes to fun.”
Quinn raised her glass in a mock toast. “To surprising first impressions!”
“Cheers!” Zoe said, clinking her glass with Cordy’s.
As the night continued, the bond between them grew stronger. Zoe shared stories about her early days in the industry, about how she had struggled to get her big break, while Quinn talked about the behind-the-scenes antics of the fashion world. Cordy, in turn, told them about her experience taking over Starstream Group and the challenges she faced. It was a night of unexpected camaraderie, and they all knew that this would mark the beginning of something more than just a business relationship.
Later, after a few more rounds, the conversation shifted to something more personal. Zoe leaned back in her chair, her tone turning more thoughtful. “You know, I’ve had my fair share of business dealings in this industry, but I can tell you’re different. You’re not just trying to sell me something. You’re building something real.”
Cordy nodded, her expression serious now. “That’s exactly what I’m trying to do. Starstream Fashion isn’t just about clothing—it’s about identity. We want to create a brand that resonates with people, something they can trust.”
Zoe smiled, clearly impressed. “I can see that. And I think you’re going to make it happen. I’m happy to be a part of it.”
The warmth in the room was undeniable. As the night wound down, Zoe stood up, slightly swaying but still with a smile on her face. “Alright, ladies, I think we’ve had enough fun for tonight. Let’s call it a night before we all end up regretting it tomorrow.”
Quinn stood too, grinning. “We definitely don’t want to see each other at a shoot with hangovers.”
They all laughed again, and Cordy couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Not only had she secured an endorsement deal, but she had also found unexpected allies in Zoe and Quinn. The evening had solidified her belief that sometimes, the best business deals were made not in boardrooms, but in moments of genuine connection.
As they made their way out of the restaurant, Cordy felt a sense of optimism about the future. The partnership with Zoe was just the beginning. With the right people by her side, she was confident that Starstream Fashion would thrive.
