Noel blinked in surprise. She had expected Cordy to reprimand her or criticize her behavior over what happened with John the previous day. But instead, Cordy was offering her a major opportunity. It was a gesture that completely took her off guard.
She hesitated for a moment, processing the offer. Managing production for the next season’s fashion line was a big responsibility, and Cordy wasn’t someone who handed out authority easily. Was this a trap? Or was Cordy genuinely offering her a chance to prove herself? “No problem at all,” Noel replied with a smile, her confidence returning. “I’ll get to work on it right away. I know exactly how to handle the production team. Thank you for the opportunity, sis.”
Cordy studied her closely, her expression unreadable. “You’d better deliver,” she said calmly. “I don’t give second chances, and I expect results.”
Noel’s smile faltered slightly, but she quickly regained her composure. “You can count on me.”
“Good,” Cordy said, standing up from her desk. “I’ll be expecting a full report at the end of the week.”
As Noel left Cordy’s office, a mix of emotions stirred within her. On one hand, she was thrilled by the new challenge, but on the other, she couldn’t shake the feeling that Cordy was watching her more closely than ever before.
